Pepi-Mex Delight – A modern version of traditional Ladoos Shruti Shah November 7, 2015 Food, Lifestyle 5681 During festive seasons, mind boggling traditional sweets had always ruled the roost. But now a days, people being more health conscious, they prefer sweets that substitute the conventional one. So, this festive season why not try something that gives traditional sweets a modern tweak and make something deliciously healthy that will let you indulge your sweet tooth without any guilt. So, here is my recipe of Pepi-Mex Delight which is an artisanal modern avatar of traditional Ladoos made from Papaya (Originally a Mexican fruit. So, you know from here is the name of these Ladoos derived). This recipe is a sure fire hit with both young and old. Preparation time 15 to 20 Minutes Ingredients Ghee – 1 Tbsp Papaya – 500 Gms, Sugar – 3 to 4 Tbsp coconut powder – 2 Tbsp Almond Pieces – 7 to 8 ADVERTISEMENT Method Heat Ghee in a pan on a medium flame. Cut Papaya into pieces or smash it and add to the pan. Mix it well until it turns into smooth semi – liquid. Also, make sure the papaya melts completely and it doesn\’t leave any fibers behind. Now, dissolve sugar in the Papaya mix. You can add less or more sugar as per your taste. Add coconut powder & pieces of almonds to the mixture. Stir it until the water is completely evaporated. Once it is done, allow the mixture to cool and settle down. Make about 10 equal portions of the mixture. Grease your palm with Ghee and shape them into round balls of lemon size. Garnish Pepi-Mex Delight with Almond Strands and this lip-smacking sweet is ready to serve. SHARE THIS POST
